Position Summary:

Accepts responsibility for entire range of financial activity for the company.  Plans, implements, and supervises all accounting functions within the company.  Establishes accounting systems and implements accounting standards and procedures.  Responsible for all financial/accounting ledgers, transactions, audits, and reconciliations.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans, monitors and supervises all accounting activities, including payroll, accounts payable, job cost, and accounts receivable
  • Supervises preparation of reconciliations, client invoices, ledger sheets, etc.
  • Monitors cash flow, general ledgers, and reconciliations
  • Maintains responsibility for accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets
  • Ensures the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; and quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports
  • Coordinates and assists outside auditors in preparation of all state and federal income tax returns
  • Establishes and maintains controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company’s value
  • Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Coordinates and assists in audits by customers and local, state and federal government entities
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Manages the month-end and year-end closing process
  • Maintains all local, state and federal registrations and licenses
  • Maintains all financial records, manages cash, and prepares year-end financial reports

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on accounting managerial experience
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Accounting experience within the construction industry, commercial projects strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft suite of products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly build rapport when meeting new people
  • Ability to build and maintain client and strategic business development relationships
